Selling Off My Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D DSLR, 28-100mm Kit Lens, and batteries/accessories

Well, that special time of the year has arrived... that time to upgrade my photography gear. This year, I'm upgrading my DSLR body from the Maxxum 7D to the Sonly Alpha 700. I can still use my lenses and flash gear with the new camera, but my batteries are not compatible with it, so instead of maintaining two differing bodies, I'm selling off my Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D DSLR. I love this camera, but selling it off will also help pay for the new camera body. :)

Halloween, A Time of Costumes and Photography In The Night!

Look, it's that time of year. You, as a photographer, have several things in your favor, towards creating a very strong selection of photographs, capturing this time of the year:

• People are decorating their front porches!
• People are dressing up and wandering the streets!
• People might be coming to your home, in costume!
• Fall colors are in! Literally!
• Pumpkins EVERYWHERE!
• Tons of smiling faces, demanding only candy...

Sounds like Halloween, other than being an overly commercialized holiday, is a great time to get some photography practice in! No need to hire models, for they walk the streets! The whole of city blocks have become one large studio, for those who are willing to brave them!

Fast Glass For Challenging Shooting!

In the Nikon Lens Posting, long focal lengths were the way to go. In this posting, as I understand there are many a photographer who work the wedding circuit, fast glass is preferred, especially when you work in churches lit by candle light, and flashes are restricted. The USM Canon EF 50mm at f/1.2 is a fast and high grade lens of the Canon L caliber. Low light situations become much less problematic, and portraiture with amazingly out of focus backgrounds, will be a breeze.
