anime
Still alive.
Hey all. Just wanted to post a quick update and let you know that I'm still alive. Been pretty busy these last couple months. Went on vacation, went to a con, and have just been generally busy with life stuff.
Look forward to a new episode soon though detailing our excellent time at Anime Punch this past April in Columbus, Ohio. Some of you long time listeners may remember that we attended this con back in 2006, but skipped 2007 since we were saving up for our trip to Japan. 2006 rocked, and 2008 was even better. This may very be the best anime convention around. Seriously. We'll tell you all about it real soon.
In the "welcome to 8 years ago" category, I started myself a blog. There will be some anime and Japanese content, but for the most part it will be an outlet of sorts. So if your going through withdrawal, surf on over to schnuth.com. » Read More »»
Rail Of The Star article scans
As mentioned last episode (episode #70), here are the scans promised by Eeeper of the Mangamax article about Rail Of The Star written by Helen McCarthy:Pages 1 & 2Pages 3 & 4In related news, Town of Evening Calm was also nominated for a 2008 Eisner Award.
Episode 70 - Town Of Evening Calm, Country Of Cherry Blossoms
This episode I take a look at the manga Town Of Evening Calm, Country Of Cherry Blossoms. Joining me on the review is Eeeper of the Eeeper's
Choice Podcast. Eeeper actually sent me this manga in to review, and is a good example of how to get me to review something. :) It's a great manga,
and seems to be overlooked like most great manga these days. Enjoy the review! » Read More »»
WARP Vidcast #2: Look At My Eva!
Here is another attempt at me doing a video cast. I think it actually turned out pretty decent, but you be the judge. I take you on a tour of the Evangelion Memorial Theater laserdisc boxset. The Japanese have a knack for putting out insane (and insanely priced) collector's sets, and this one is no exception.

Episode 69 - Let's Mailbag!
This episode I do what most lazy unprepared podcasters do, read your e-mail! I've been playing a lot of voicemail lately and have been neglecting all your great e-mail, so we start correcting that in this episode. I also take a look at some news including the upcoming live-action Akira movie, and some strange individuals in Japan. Don't forget to keep those e-mails and voicemails coming in, I always love to hear from you. The voicemail number is 206-339-9277 in case you forgot. » Read More »»
Episode 68 - GameCenter CX
This episode I take a look at the awesome Japanese reality video game show, Game Center CX. Even though it's not anime I still highly recommend it. Highly entertaining, even if your not a fan of old Nintendo games. But everyone loves old Nintendo games right? I also talk about the state of the podcast, some anime news, and of course your voicemail. Don't forget to call those in at 206-339-9277! » Read More »»
Bronchitis is not fun.
Really it isn't. I don't recommend getting bronchitis at all. But unfortunately it's what happened to me last week. I was hoping to get a podcast up this week, but that may not happen. I'm pretty much better now but I still have some coughing going on. You really don't want to listen to me cough my head off since that doesn't make for good podcasting. So there might not be a show this week. Just wanted to let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth again. :)
Episode 67 - Wings Of Honneamise
This week I review the awesome classic anime film Royal Space Force: Wings Of Honneamise. It's a fantastic film, but it's too bad that Bandai Visual is charging an arm and a leg for the DVD. I also look at some otaku news, and catch up on e-mails and voicemails. Don't forget to leave a voicemail at 206-339-9277 and get on the podcast. See you next time! » Read More »»
